The Reverend James M. Hairston is an Anglican Priest who serves in a variety of capacities. He is a Chaplain in the United States Army, Protestant Chaplain at the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, Campus Minister for Multi-Faith Programs at Boston College and Parish Intern at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
A Dorchester (Boston) native, Rev’d James studied Political Science (with minors in Economics & African and African Diaspora Studies) at Boston College. After graduation, Rev’d James embarked on a career in teaching, eventually earning a Master of Education. After years of running, he finally answered the call to the ministry and earned a Master of Divinity. Currently he is pursuing a doctorate in Ascetical Theology at Nashotah House Theological Seminary.
Rev’d Hairston is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom where he earned the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Rev’d Hairston is active in a variety of community, fraternal and religiously based organizations, including the Society of Mary (Anglican) and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. He currently resides in Dorchester with his wife Elizabeth and their two children.
